Desco C. Wininger, age 93, of Vine Grove passed away Tuesday, June 27, 2017 at his residence.

Desco was a member of Vine Grove Baptist Church, he loved to smoke his pipe, attend dirt car track racing events, watch & read westerners, and mow the yard. He also loved to watch Indiana play basketball, and was always a Hoosier at heart. Desco was a veteran of three wars: World War II, the Korean War, and the Vietnam War. He was a retired Chief Warrant Officer IV having served his country in the United States Army for 32 years. After retiring he was employed by Trane of Clarksville, Tennessee for twenty years.

He was born December 9, 1923 in Crystal, Indiana to the late Wilford and Mary Hagin Wininger who preceded him in death along with a sister, Madeline. He was married to Marguerite Reid Wininger for 36 years who preceded him in death in February 2007.

Desco is survived by his two sons, Randy Wininger & his wife, Serina of Salley of South Carolina, Larry Wininger & his wife, Carol of Virginia Beach, Virginia; two grandchildren; two nephews, Charles Gollier & his wife, Beverly of Paoli, Indiana, Bobby Gollier of Booneville, Indiana, two stepsons, Steve Gibson & his wife, Marcia, Roger Gibson & his wife, Nancy both of Elizabethtown, KY; and one stepdaughter, Sherry Harper & her husband, Joe of West Palm Beach, Florida; and several step grandchildren & step great grandchildren.

The funeral services for Mr. Wininger will be held at 12:00 PM Wednesday, July 5, 2017 at the chapel of Coffey & Chism Funeral Home, Vine Grove, KY. Burial will follow in the Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Orleans, IN.
