Irma Jean Simmons

Irma Jean Simmons, 87, of Elizabethtown, KY passed away Friday, April 6, 2018 at the Signature of North Hardin.

Mrs. Simmons had been a member of Ekron Baptist Church since the mid nineteen forties. She was also a member of the Red Hat Society and enjoyed going to yard sales with her two best friends, Helen Pavey, and Mertye Heberly.

She was preceded in death by one son, Johnny Simmons; three brothers, Forrest Morgan, Elwood Morgan, Harley Morgan; three sisters, Ileene Dowell, Mary Ledford, Ruthie Powell; and a former husband, Ralph Simmons.

Survivors include one daughter, Lois Wilson & her husband, Dan of Shepherdsville, KY; four sons, Smitty Simmons of LaGrange, KY, Bobby T. Simmons & his wife, Sharon of Brandenburg, KY, Craig Simmons of Brandenburg, KY, Robert A. Barrow & his wife, Shelly of Cecilia, KY; one brother, Curtis Morgan; a half brother, Charles Roberson; thirteen grandchildren; twenty seven great grandchildren; six great great grandchildren; and a host of family & friends.

Visitation will be from 1:00 PM until 7:00 PM Sunday and after 10:00 AM Monday at Coffey & Chism Funeral Home, Vine Grove, KY.

Funeral services for Mrs. Simmons will be held at 1:00 PM, Monday, April 9, 2018 at the chapel of Coffey & Chism Funeral Home with Brother Wes Pinkley officiating. Burial will follow at the Ekron Baptist Church Cemetery.
