Ernest Matthew Heinen, 53, of Vine Grove KY, passed away at the Robley Rex Veteran’s Hospital in Louisville Sunday the 24th of February 2019.
Mr. Heinen was a decorated United States Army Veteran who served as a Tanker in the Gulf War.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Peer Peters Gandil, Matthew & Margaret Rechner, Ernest & Margaret Heinen; two aunts, Alice Marciani, Fran Heinen; two uncles, PFC Robert P Gandil "Godfather" and Herbert O’Connell.
He is survived by his parents, Ernest & Eileen Heinen of Vine Grove, KY; two sisters, Laura (Randy) Roller, Maggie (Billy) Clark; four aunts, Victoria O’Neill (Godmother), Karen O’Connell, Tina Gandil, Pat (Bill) Henning, five uncles, Richard (Cathy) Marciani, Lars Gandil, Dennis O’Neill, Richard (Barb) Rechner, Robert Heinen; a brother in law, Jim Storey; six nieces & nephews, Elizabeth Roller, Samantha Roller, Jesscia Storey, Matthew Storey, Brandon Clark, Brayden Clark; two great nieces, Allison Blevins, Eliza Morse; as well as many cousins and close friends.
Visitation will be from 10:00 AM until 1:00 PM, Tuesday, March 5, 2019 at the Chism Family Funeral Home, Vine Grove, KY.
A Mass of Christian Burial for Mr. Heinen will be held at 1:30 PM, March 5, 2019 at St. Brigid Catholic Church, Vine Grove, KY with Rev. Daniel Lincoln officiating. Burial with military honors will follow in the Kentucky Veterans Cemetery Central, Radcliff, KY.
