CSM (RET) James A. Smith, 77, of Radcliff, KY passed away Tuesday, November 13, 2018 at Hardin Memorial Hospital, Elizabethtown, KY.
CSM Smith was retired from the United States Army and Civil Service, with over forty three years of service to his country. His memberships include: St. Brigid Catholic Church, Vine Grove, KY, Knights of Columbus Father Diemert Council #3379, Vine Grove, KY, he was a Nebraska Admiral, and a Kentucky Colonel.
Survivors include: His loving wife of fifty four years, Maggie Smith of Radcliff, KY; three children, Elisabeth Hunt & her husband, Jonathon of Baton Rouge, LA; Eric J. Smith & his wife, Chaeson of Carlisle, PA; Christine Smith of Nashville, TN; three grandchildren, Jayne, Brocklynne, Josephine; two sisters, Jean Lawrence & her husband, Curtis of Dayton, OH, Mary Eddy of Morgantown, WV; and a host of family & friends around the world.
A Mass of Christian Burial for Mr. Smith will be held at 10:00 AM, Monday, November 19, 2018 at St. Brigid Catholic Church, Vine Grove, KY with Father Daniel Lincoln officiating. Burial with military honors will follow in the Kentucky Veterans Cemetery Central, Radcliff, KY.
