Juliann Klug Obituary

Mrs. Juliann "Julie" Tesar Klug (née Wilder), of Elizabethtown, Kentucky, passed away peacefully on Friday, November 8th, 2019 at the age of 87.

Julie was born to parents Julius and Ruth Wilder on March 30th, 1932 in Central City, Nebraska. She grew up the youngest of two and attended Central City High School. In 1950, she began her collegiate education on scholarship at Doane College where she met and married, Larry Tesar of Wilber, Nebraska. After graduation, Julie taught for 1 year in Hordville, Nebraska, before the couple took teaching and coaching positions at Fort Knox High School in Kentucky.  Larry and Julie had three children: Robin, Susan, and Jay. Larry passed from cancer in 1973.

Julie married Duane Klug in 1980, and the couple adopted a daughter, Megan. Julie taught and coached for 33 years until her retirement in 1988 from Ft. Knox High School. After retiring, she opened Pumpkin Patch Day Care and continued to volunteer at various schools and organizations throughout the Hardin County area over the next twenty years.  She was most known for her artistic creativity and generous contributions to her family, friends and community.

Julie lives on through her daughter, Robin Greunke (husband, Lee); her son, Jay Tesar (wife, Stephanie); her daughter, Megan Overholt (husband, Jason); her sister, LeOna Redden; nine grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. She was welcomed at the gates of heaven by her parents, Julius and Ruth Wilder; her husband, Larry Tesar; her infant daughter, Susan Tesar; her husband, Duane Klug; and her son-in-law, Lee Greunke. 

Visitation will be from 2:00 PM until 4:00 PM Friday at Chism Family Funeral Home, Vine Grove, KY.

Services for Mrs. Klug will be held at 4:00 PM, Friday, November 22, 2019 at the chapel of Chism Family Funeral Home, Vine Grove, KY

In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate any donation to the hospice branch that so lovingly helped Julie transition with comfort, dignity, and grace through her final phase of life: Bluegrass Care Navigators, 2312 Alexandria Drive, Lexington, KY 40504
