Leon Skeeters

Leon Skeeters, 69, of Vine Grove, KY passed away Saturday, August 10, 2019 at his residence with his family by his side.

Mr. Skeeters was a member of St. Brigid Catholic Church, Vine Grove, KY. He was retired from Civil Service, Fort Knox, KY. He was a former ballpark commissioner and City Councilmen for Vine Grove, KY. He was also a former softball coach who helped coach two teams to state championships.

He was preceded in death by his parents, James William & Margaret Ann Skeeters; one sister, Charlotte; two grandchildren, Braden McCune, Will Yates; and a nephew, Eric Sipes.

Survivors include: His wife of 30 years, Cindy Skeeters of Vine Grove, KY; four children, Slade Skeeters & his wife, Kendra of Vine Grove, KY, Michelle Yates & her significant other, Austin of Radcliff, KY, Mendi Skeeters-Blehar & her husband, Craig of Flaherty, KY, Stacie McCune of Elizabethtown, KY; eight grandchildren; three great grandchildren; four siblings, Jamesina Priebe & her husband, Allyn, Sherleen Barren & her husband, Ralph, Greg Skeeters & his wife, Lynne, Mark Skeeters & his wife, Donna; and a host of family & friends.

Visitation will be from 3:00 PM until 8:00 PM Tuesday and from 9:00 AM until 10:30 AM Wednesday at Chism Family Funeral Home, Vine Grove, KY. A prayer service will be held at 7:00 PM, Tuesday at the funeral home.

A Mass of Christian Burial for Mr. Skeeters will be held at 11:00 AM, Wednesday, August 14, 2019 at St. Brigid Catholic Church, Vine Grove, KY with Rev. Daniel Lincoln officiating. Burial will follow at the St. Brigid Cemetery, Vine Grove, KY.
