Martene Sophie (Oakes) Youart

Martene Sophie Youart, 91, of Flaherty, KY passed away Tuesday, March 5, 2019 at her residence.

Mrs. Youart was a member of St. Martin of Tours Catholic Church, Flaherty, KY and had retired from Civil Service, Fort Knox, KY. Her other memberships include: past state president for Military Order of the Cootie, V.F.W. Auxiliary #10281, Vine Grove, KY, and she served on the Foster Care Review Board for Meade County, KY.  

She was preceded in death by her husband, William W. Youart; one brother, Everett Oakes; and one sister, Elizabeth Ryan.

Survivors include:
Five children, William “Bill” Youart of Stephensport, KY, Kathryn Simmons & her husband, Allen of Flaherty, KY, Howard Youart of Flaherty, KY, Lauretta Youart & her husband, Dennis Hoskins of LaGrange, KY, Dorothy Biddle & her husband, Stanley of Mount Washington, KY; eleven grandchildren, fifteen great grandchildren; and a host of family & friends.

Visitation will be from 3:00 PM until 7:00 PM, Sunday at the Chism Family Funeral Home, Vine Grove, KY. A prayer service will be held at 7:00 PM Sunday at the funeral home and followed by a V.F.W. Auxiliary service.

A Mass of Christian Burial for Mrs. Youart will be held at 11:00 AM, Monday, March 11, 2019 at St. Martin of Tours Catholic Church, Flaherty, KY. Burial will follow in the Kentucky Veterans Cemetery Central, Radcliff, KY.
