Philip Whelan Obituary

George Philip Whelan, 81, of Rineyville, KY passed away Monday, September 3, 2018 at Hardin Memorial Hospital.
Mr. Whelan was preceded in death by his parents, John K. & Hattie Ellen Whelan; two brothers, Bertrand, Marcel Whelan; two nephews, Larry Joe Whelan, James Philip Williams; and a niece, Vannah Morgan.

He is survived by four brothers, John Richard Whelan (Barbara) of Flaherty, KY, Mike Whelan of Louisville, KY, Paul Martin Whelan (Dee) of Tampa, FL, Forrest Whelan (Beth) of Scottsville, KY; one sister, Mary Ellen Williams (Freddy) of St. John; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, & friends.

Visitation will be from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM Wednesday and from 9:00 AM until 10:30 AM Thursday at the Chism Family Funeral Home, Vine Grove, KY. A prayer service will be held at 7:00 PM Wednesday at the funeral home.

A Mass of Christian Burial for Mr. Whelan will be held at 11:00 AM, Thursday, September 6, 2018 at St. Martin of Tours Catholic Church, Flaherty, KY. Burial will follow in the St. Martin Cemetery, Flaherty, KY.
