Ronald M. Harper, 71, of Rineyville, KY passed away Saturday, October 13, 2018 at Hardin Memorial Hospital, Elizabethtown, KY.
Mr. Harper was retired from the United States Army and a part of the Special Forces. He was a veteran of the Vietnam War and a recipient of two Purple Hearts. Mr. Harper was proud to service his country and always thanked veterans for their service. Some of his memberships include: V.F.W. Post #10281, Vine Grove, KY, American Legion Post #113, Elizabethtown, KY, D.A.V. Chapter 156, Radcliff, KY. He had also worked several years for Civil Service, Fort Knox, KY.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Elmore & Nellie Harper; one brother in law, Ron Morrow.
Survivors include his loving wife, Jeannie Harper of Rineyville, KY; two sons, Chad Harper of Phoenix, AZ, Chris Harper & his wife, Lindsey of Brandenburg, KY; one granddaughter, Ashley McCarthy; two sisters, Rhonda Morrow, Marlene Mohr; one brother, Scot Harper; several nieces, great nieces & nephews all of North Platt, NE.
A memorial service will be held at 4:00 PM, Friday, October 19, 2018 at the American Legion Post #113, Elizabethtown, KY 42701.
A graveside service with military honors will be held at a later date at Arlington National Cemetery, Arlington, VA.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made in memory of Mr. Harper to any favorite veterans charity.
