Aldridge Eugene Newby, Jr., 69, went to be with the Lord on March 4, 2020.
He was born May 2, 1950 to Aldridge E. Newby and Simonette S. Newby (Reid) in Fort Campbell, KY. He was the oldest of ten children, six boys and four girls.
While growing up, Aldridge traveled the United States and abroad because of his father's service in the military. His love of travel came naturally. He enjoyed football and earned a name for himself at Fort Knox High. Bow hunting and racing cars at the local track were pastimes of his.
Aldridge rededicated his life to Christ and was a member of New Hope Missionary Baptist Church. He was an active member in his community serving as a volunteer at American Red Cross at Fort Knox. Aldridge resided in Guadalajara, Mexico for several years and was fluent in Spanish. He traveled to the Philippines, China, Dominic Republic and even Cuba. While in Mexico Aldridge passed away from complications of an injury.
He was preceded in death by his mother and a sister, Simone Freeman.
He leaves to forever cherish his memory his son, Aldridge E. Newby, III (Gene), a daughter, Avon Conner, brothers, Harry Newby, Curtis Newby, Michael Newby (Diana), Eric Newby, Tyrone Newby (Jennifer); sisters, Sheila Newby (Charles), Sharon Dixon (Stevie), Sandra Singleton, grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews and many friends.
A graveside service will be held at 2:30 PM, Thursday, March 4, 2021 at North Hardin Memorial Gardens, Radcliff, KY
