Amy Jo (Heckman) Hofstra Obituary

Amy Jo (Heckman) Hofstra Obituary

Amy Jo (Heckman) Hofstra, 65, of  Vine Grove, KY graduated to her heavenly home on October 10th, 2025 at 9:30pm.

She was surrounded by her family & closest friends until the very end. She had so much peace knowing she was going to wake up in Heaven, to the face of her heavenly father! She was reunited with her Soulmate & Husband Scott, their oldest Daughter Elizabeth Hofstra, her Parents Raymond & Marylou Heckman, her Mother-in-law Shirlee Ann Hofstra & her Niece Mandy Crooks again! The Celebration that happened when she walked through Heaven's Gate can not be put into words!

Amy graduated from Marshall High School and went on to get her RN & BSN Nursing degree at Grand Valley State University. She loved being a nurse for thirty years and taking care of people came naturally to her. She loved journaling, writing letters and sending scripture to everyone! (even total strangers!) Her journals are filled with everything from her daily devotions with God, to family stories, fun memories, doodles from her granddaughters and little notes she needed to remember. No amount of journals could hold the words to begin to describe the kind of person she was. She was an amazing influence on everyone! She  was loving, caring, joyful and was such a light and blessing to everyone who knew her! Mill Creek Baptist Church was her home and she loved working in the children's Ministry there. She considered every member family and never missed an important date without a card or letter being sent! She was a best friend to each of her four beautiful granddaughters, Abby, Emmy & Ashley Stanbrough & Anthem Grace Hofstra. They were her whole world & she took every moment to make so many good & fun memories with them! They loved staying at grandmas!

Amy was the best Daughter, Niece, Sister, Aunt, Wife, Mother & Grandmother you could ever have. She leaves behind her Daughter Mary (Hofstra) Stanbrough, Son Michael Hofstra, her (favorite kids) Son-In-Law William Stanbrough & Daughter-In-Law Rachel Hofstra, her Father-In-Law Harry Hofstra, Sisters Nancy Crooks & Jean Rodgers and her Brother Bill Heckman. Along with her four Granddaughters, many Sisters & Brother-In-Law's, numerous Nieces & Nephews and Great Nieces & Nephews, multiple Cousins, so many wonderful Friends & her cats Sarah & Zippy!

Amy's walk with God was one for the ages! She was one of the most God-Fearing women you've ever been blessed to know. She wants us to Rejoice knowing she is exactly where she's always wanted to be, in her heavenly home, sitting at the feet of Jesus! She has finally heard the words she always looked forward to hearing "Well done, good and faithful servant! Come and share your master’s happiness!"

Instead of flowers (she didn't want money spent on things that would just wither away) she specifically requested that money be donated to Mill Creek Baptist Church, Samaritan's Purse, Embrace a Child Foundation and Rachel's Playground & Splash Pad in Vine Grove, KY where she loved taking her Granddaughters & their friends to play as often as possible!
