Anita Katherine (Borgschatz) Enevold Obituary

Anita Katherine Enevold, 85, of Radcliff, KY passed away Sunday, October 12, 2025 at Baptist Health Hardin, Elizabethtown, KY.

Anita Katherine (Borgschatz) Enevold was born 23 July 1940 on a farm in Zumbrota, Minnesota community. Her parents were William & Emma Borgschatz with a family of seven children. Anita’s siblings include Harold, Walter, Merlin, John, Paul and Edna. She attended Zumbrota Elementary School and the family attended Christ Lutheran Church in Zumbrota.

In 1950 her family moved to a larger farm in Goodhue, MN and Anita attended Goodhue Middle School. For her high schooling she enrolled in Martin Luther Prep School, New Ulm, MN graduating in 1958. Her next large employment was with Osco Drug Store in Rochester, Minn. operating the tobacco counter. At this time she and Earl Enevold were dating and they were married on July 2, 1960. Earl was in the military at this time, amd in fall of 1960 she joined him a Ft. Benning, Ga. to begin their Army life together. Timothy was born at Fort Benning just in time for them to be placed on orders to go to Alaska in September of 1961.

While stationed in Alaska for 30 months Anita became a mother again to Rebecca in April of 1963. A year later on Good Friday of 1964 the big earth quake hit Alaska and Anita and her family were soon on they way to Fort Hood, Texas. In late 1965 Earl was on orders to go to Korea for a one year tour. Anita took her two children back to Minnesota for that year.

Upon returning to the states Earl was assigned to Fort Jackson, SC. At this location Matthew was born and soon after Earl was on orders to go to Germany. Two months later Anita packed her family up and went to join Earl in Mannheim Germany. This stay lasted for 2 years at which time Earl got orders to go to Vietnam. So once more Anita packed her family up and returned to Zumbrota while Earl did his military duty in Vietnam.

Upon the completion of the Vietnam tour of duty, Earl requested an intertheater transfer to go directly to Germany from Vietnam. This request was granted and again Anita found herself packing up family and things for Germany. This time the family resided in Karlsruhe and Earl worked at Germesheim Depot. Anita got herself all involved in grade school and youth activities. This resulted in her being a chaperone to the Black Forrest, a trip to the East Germany duty train to Berlin tour, and several other class trips.

Upon completion of this Germany tour the family was located to Fort Knox, Ky. In 1977 Earl got orders to go to Korea for a year but this time Anita and her family stayed at Fort knox for that year. in 1979 Earl got orders again to go back to Germany, this time to Nuemberg area. Once more Anita got to pack up her family for the move.

Again while living next to Herzo Artillery base Anita got involved in the youth activites for the dependant children. These chaperoned trips got her to go with the groups to the sights of Italy and the gondolas of Venice. Add in some softball coaching; She stayed busy.

In May of 1981 Earl retired from the military service the family moved back to the Fort Knox area. They rented a home for 6 months and then purchased a home at 339 Boone Trace in Radcliffe, Ky. Anita’s last moved since 1981.

In summer of 1981 Earl went into the Trucking World. Anita turned to her sewing and quilting ventures. She made one for each of the 6 grandchildren, and one for each of the cuddling kids of hers that produced these 6 grandchildren.
