Anthony Duane Knox

Anthony Duane Knox, age 59, entered the presence of his Lord and Savior on July 26, 2026, surrounded by the love of his family.

Born on December 6, 1966, at St. Joseph Mercy Hospital in Ann Arbor, Michigan, Anthony lived a life marked by faith, service, and unwavering devotion to his family, his country, and those around him.

Anthony proudly served in the United States Army for twenty years, retiring as a Sergeant First Class (SFC) on November 1, 2010. Throughout his military career as a Human Resources Specialist, he faithfully cared for Soldiers and their families while serving his country with honor and distinction.

Following his retirement from military service, Anthony continued his commitment to serving Soldiers as a Department of the Army Civilian Human Resources professional from January 18, 2011, until his retirement on June 12, 2026. Whether wearing the uniform of the United States Army or serving as a Department of the Army Civilian, Anthony dedicated more than 35 years of his life to supporting Soldiers, their families, and the nation he loved.

Believing that learning never ends, Anthony pursued higher education while continuing his career, earning a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a concentration in Human Resource Management in 2010, followed by a Master of Business Administration in Human Resource Management in 2016, both from Columbia Southern University.

Anthony's Christian faith guided the way he lived. His favorite Scripture was Proverbs 3:5–6 (KJV), served as a constant reminder throughout his life.  

“Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.”

Above all, Anthony treasured his family. He was a devoted husband, loving father, proud grandfather, caring son, brother, uncle, mentor, and friend. He found joy in encouraging others, investing in people, and quietly serving wherever he was needed. His life reflected steadfast devotion, servant leadership, and a heart committed to helping others. His legacy of faith, service, and love will continue to live on through all who knew and loved him.

Anthony is survived by his beloved wife, Crystal Shevon Knox; his children, Cherree Lange Milligan (Eran), Marcus Knox (Jessa), Antoinette Knox-Davis, Kendall Knox, and Rhaelyn Rice; his cherished grandchildren, Amira Milligan, Amari Milligan, and Hazel Knox; his mother, Brenda Knox; his brothers, Van Knox III (Brittany) and Byron Knox (Merary); his aunt and uncles, Linda and Harry Smith, Gloria Knox McKinney, and Lewis Knox; along with many extended family members, lifelong friends, brothers-in-arms, colleagues, and all whose lives were touched by his kindness and service.

He was preceded in death by his father, Van Douglas Knox, Jr.

Funeral services for Mr. Knox will be held at 11:00 AM, Monday, August 3, 2026 at Heritage International Christian Church, Radcliffe, KY. A graveside service with military honors will follow at the Kentucky Veterans Cemetery Central, Radclifff, KY.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that memorial contributions be made to a memorial fund established for Anthony's children in honor of his love and devotion to his family.
