Barbara Bonnell Obituary

Barbara Carol (Rowlett) Bonnell, born on October 18, 1952, departed from this world on Sunday, October 22, surrounded by her loving family. A native of Lafayette, GA, Barbara was the cherished daughter of Barbara Jean and James Edward Rowlett, who have gone before her.

Barbara is survived by her devoted husband, Jerry Bonnell, and her children, Kenneth Moore and his wife Susan, Barbara Shea, and Shannon Moore along with her wife, Heather. Her legacy extends to six grandchildren and an incredible nine great-grandchildren.

Barbara’s life was dedicated to the service of others, having retired as the Chief of Military Personnel Division and Project Manager for Fort Knox, previously the Chief of the Fort Knox Casualty Office. Her work touched the lives of countless soldiers and their families during their most challenging moments. Her excellence in her profession was matched only by the boundless compassion in her heart. When not helping others Barbara enjoyed reading books. Often times reading a book a day.

While Barbara had a remarkable career, her true pride and joy were her children and grandchildren. She went above and beyond to provide unwavering support to each of them, demonstrating the depth of her love and commitment.

In accordance with her wishes, Barbara’s passing will remain a private matter, shared solely with her immediate family. As we remember and honor her, let us hold close the memories of a remarkable woman whose life was a testament to love, dedication, and compassion. Barbara will forever be cherished and deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
