Barbara Jean Burch

Barbara Jean Burch was born to the late Warren A Burch and Sarah Burch on Oct 2, 1932. She departed this earthly life on Tuesday, Nov 9, 2021.

Barbara is survived by her daughter Dani Lee (Robert), granddaughter Mia (Quintel), sisters Carolyn from Fort Wayne, IN and Glyneece (Scott) from Minneapolis, Minnesota and a host of nieces and nephews. 

Barbara was born and raised in Georgia and the oldest of five sisters: Ruby, Carolyn, Glyneece, and Sandra. Later, after graduating from high school and attending Fort Valley State, Barbara relocated to Fort Wayne, Indiana to live with her aunt. During the years of her life in Fort Wayne, she worked at Fort Wayne State Devlopmental Center as a Special need's art teacher and physical therapist and later retired.  

Barbara was a member of Union Baptist church and was an active participate as a Sunday school teacher and the floral club. Barbara also volunteered at the airport and shelters after retirement. Barbara was a hard-working mother and grandmother who contributed her life to the church, family, and friends.
The simplest pleasures of life brought great joy to Barbara. She loved being surrounded with her love ones. She was a social butterfly that was approachable, loving, compassionate, and outspoken. Barbara loved spending time in the kitchen as well and known for her delicious pound cakes, collard greens, and peach cobbler. Anytime you arrived at her door, she would have a hot cooked meal waiting on the stove. Not only was she a great cook, but she also was a great dresser.  It was later discovered in her later years of life by her daughter and granddaughter that she had some groovy dance moves as well. Barbara later relocated to Kentucky under the care of her daughter and a granddaughter. They had many years of laughter and unconditional love that will always be cherished for a life time.

Visitation will be from 12:30 PM until 1:30 PM, Wednesday, November 17, 2021 at Chism Family Funeral Home, Vine Grove, KY.

Funeral services for Ms. Burch will be held at 1:30 PM, Wednesday, November 17, 2021 at the chapel of Chism Family Funeral Home, Vine Grove, KY. Burial will follow at the North Hardin Memorial Gardens, Radcliff, KY.
