Bart Johnson

Bart Johnson, 71, a father, son, brother, grandfather, and great-grandfather, passed away peacefully on Thursday, May 18th, 2023 at Carl M. Brashear Radcliff Veterans Center , in Radcliff, Kentucky. Born in Rochester, New York, on Wednesday, December 12th, 1951.

Bart was preceded in death by his daughter, Kirsten Burchett, and his father, Willis Johnson.

He is survived by his children, Jennifer Morlan and her husband Michael, and Jeff Mitchum and his wife Sandra; his mother, Katherine Johnson; his siblings, Mark Johnson, Mike Johnson, and Fran Johnson; grandchildren, Amber, Debon, Hailei, Olivia, Shelby, Ally, Heather, Kimberli, Megan, Emma, Kyle; nineteen great-grandchildren; and a host of extended family and friends who will dearly miss him.

Bart was a proud and accomplished man, earning a bachelor's degree and serving his country as a veteran of the United States Army. Throughout his life, Bart was an active member of his community, participating in the Fraternal Order of Police (FOP) and Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW). He dedicated many years of his life to working as a corrections officer, where he was known for his professionalism and commitment to his role. His generosity extended beyond his immediate circle, as he was always willing to help others and contribute to his community in any way he could.

Bart's visitation will be from 11:00 AM until 1:30 PM, Thursday, May 25, 2023 at Chism Family Funeral Home, Vine Grove, KY.

Funeral services for Mr. Johnson will be held at 1:30 PM, Thursday, May 25, 2023 at the chapel of Chism Family Funeral Home, Vine Grove, KY. Burial with military honors will follow at the Kentucky Veterans Cemetery Central, Radcliff, KY.
