Bemis “Jake” Thompson, 71, of Radcliff, KY passed away Wednesday, May 28, 2025 at his residence.

Mr. Thompson was retired from the United States Army. Bemis was an avid outdoorsman, he spent countless hours fishing and hunting, fully immersing himself in the wilderness. Jake's greatest delight, however, was his role as a grandfather. He cherished every moment spent with his grandchildren, instilling in them the values of kindness, courage, and integrity.

He was preceded in death by his parents, James & Odelia Taylor Thompson; and a sister, Maleria Taylor.

Mr. Thompson is survived by his wife, Son Su Thompson; two sons, Fred Keith Thompson (Nicola), Treneard Thompson; four grandchildren, Nicolas Thompson, Shania Thompson, Brandon Herrin, Scharmaine Franklin; three siblings, Marvin Thompson, Michael Thompson, Stacy Campbell; two nieces, Erica Taylor, Chaundranita J. Thompson; two nephews, Jarvis Taylor, Marvin Thompson Jr; and a host of extended family & friends.

Visitation will be from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM, Wednesday, June 4, 2025 at Chism Family Funeral Home.

Funeral services for Mr. Thompson will be held at 1:00 PM, Wednesday, June 4, 2025 at the chapel of Chism Family Funeral Home, Vine Grove, KY Pastor Josh Nagel officiating. Burial with military honors will follow at the Kentucky Veterans Cemetery Central, Radcliff, KY.
