Benjamin Nathaniel "Ben" Peterson, 39, of Rineyville, Kentucky passed away Monday, April 22, 2024, in his home after facing many health issues. He was born November 29, 1984 in Elizabethtown, KY.
A native of Hardin County, Ben was the son of Charles David "Dave" Peterson and Mary Alice Wilson Peterson of Rineyville. He was the youngest of two children and a 2003 graduate of North Hardin High School. He was a member of College Heights Methodist Church and also attended Summit Methodist Church. He was a jokester and enjoyed making people laugh, taking care of his adopted fur babies, enjoyed attending the Renaissance Fair, was a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles enthusiast, was a member of the Masons, and Captain America was his hero. When asked how he was doing, he'd always respond, "Fine, dandy, great, wonderful, AND superb", which became his motto. He met his beloved fiancé at 911 Dispatch of Hardin County where they worked together. He previously worked at Radcliff Drugs, Optioncare, and Houchens of Bowling Green. He also trained as an EMT technician.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Clyde and Kathryn "Tootsie" Wilson of Bradfordsville and paternal grandparents, Fletcher and Mary Ann Peterson of Loretto.
He is survived by his parents Charles David "Dave" and Mary Alice Peterson of Rineyville, sister, Catron (Matthew) Burdette of Morgantown, niece, Evelyn Burdette, nephew, Carter Burdette, his loving fiancé, April Grey of Cecilia, and a large extended family of aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
Visitation is at Chism Family Funeral Home, 769 Highland Ave, Vine Grove, KY 40175 from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM EST on Thursday, April 25, 2024 and from 1:00 PM until 3:00 PM on Friday, April 26, 2024 EST. There will be Mason Eastern Star and Odd Fellow Rites at 7 PM on Thursday, April 25, 2024 EST.
Funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM EST on Friday, April 26, 2024 at Chism Family Funeral Home. The graveside service will be at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 657 St John Church Rd, Elizabethtown, KY 42701. Bereavement dinner to follow.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent in Ben's honor to Diabetes Research, Kidney Disease Research, or an organization of donor's choice.
