Betty Lou (Sheroan) Benham

Betty Lou Sheroan Benham, 74, went home peacefully to our Savior on October 21, 2023. She was born in Vine Grove to her parents, Reedie and Lucy Mae Harper Sheroan on September 20, 1949. 

Betty was preceded in death by her parents, brothers Harvey, Junior and Billy Sheroan.

She is survived by her husband of 56 years Johnnie Benham, daughters Shauna Benham Locklear and Tara (William) Mahuron. She has one granddaughter Mahala (Dixon) Locklear and a great-granddaughter on the way. She also leaves behind one brother James (Betty) Sheroan and two sisters Minnie (Earl) Wood and Joyce Donley. Betty loved all of her nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. 

Betty’s first love with God and she followed him in all things in life. She was 14 years old when she was saved and continued going to church and devoting her life to God up to the Sunday before she passed. She was a support to her husband Johnnie as her preached many churches through the years. She was a loving mom and Mimi to her daughters and granddaughter.  She loved spending time with her family, shopping and going to yard sales with her special friend Ibeah. Besides reading the Bible many times, her passion was doing crossword puzzles, taking long car rides to see the countryside and before retiring working with special needs children as a school bus aide. She will be heavily missed by all her family but we rejoice in knowing she’s with her Lord and savior and no longer suffering.

Visitation will be from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM, Tuesday, October 24, 2023 and from 9:00 AM until 11:00 AM, Wednesday, October 25, 2023 at Chism Family Funeral Home, Vine Grove, KY.

Funeral services for Mrs. Benham will be held at 11:00 AM, Wednesday, October 25, 2023 at the chapel of Chism Family Funeral Home, Vine Grove, KY. Burial will follow at the Vine Grove Cemetery.
