Billy Glenn Hibbs, 89, of Radcliff, KY, a kind, selfless, and gentle man, passed away on Saturday, April 22, 2023, in Elizabethtown, Kentucky. He was born on November 16, 1933, in Fairview, West Virginia, to the late Margaret and Samuel Kelly Hibbs, Sr.
A proud veteran of the United States Army, Mr. Hibbs served his country with honor and distinction.
Besides his parents, Mr. Hibbs was preceded in death by one brother, Pastor Samuel Kelly Hibbs, Jr.; one sister, Norma June Tennant; and two great-grandchildren, Hunter Leann Ruff and Jaxon Tyler Hibbs.
He is survived by a large and loving family, including four children, Sharel Young (Mike) of Radcliff, KY, Carol Vail (Robert) of Titusville, FL, Darrell Hibbs (Pam) of Mims, FL, and Harold Hibbs (Ginger) of Indiana. He was also the proud grandfather of eleven grandchildren, Harry Lee Ruff (April), Quentin Hibbs (Matilda), Robert Vail (Tiffany), Kierstyn Scachetti (Daniel), Dakota Vail, Asia Williams, Emily Williams, Harper Hibbs, Henley Hibbs, Haylen Hibbs, and Hollis Hibbs. In addition, Mr. Hibbs was blessed with six great-grandchildren, Anthony Ruff (Destiny), Mattea Ruff, Nellie Hibbs, Edlin Hibbs, Celine Lee, and Chloe Vail; and two great-great-grandchildren, Hunter Ruff and Archer Ruff; one brother, Bob Hibbs (Diane) of Marcellus, MI; a former wife and close friend, Leuna Campbell Hibbs; and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends who will miss him dearly.
Visitation will be from 3:00 PM until 6:00 PM, Sunday, April 30, 2023 and from 11:00 AM until 1:30 PM, Monday, May 1, 2023 at Chism Family Funeral Home, Vine Grove, KY.
Funeral services for Mr. Hibbs will be held at 1:30 PM, Monday, May 1, 2023 at the chapel of Chism Family Funeral Home, Vine Grove, Ky. Burial with military honors will follow at the Kentucky Veterans Cemetery Central, Radcliff, KY.
