Bobby Chism

Robert Wesley “Bobby” Chism, 77, of Ekron, KY passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 16, 2024 at his residence with his family by his side.

Mr. Chism was a devout member of Ekron Baptist Church where he had served as a deacon. He retired as a pipe fitter from Olin Chemical Plant, Brandenburg, KY. Bobby was known for his selfless nature, gentle spirit, and infectious humor. He was affectionately known as "Pappy" to his grandchildren, Bobby's role as a grandfather was one he embraced with every ounce of his being. In his spare time he enjoyed going to yard sales, collecting antiques but most of all he enjoyed being with his family.

He was preceded in death by his parents Robert & Pauline Chism; one brother, Ronald Chism; and a niece, Darlene Speed.

He is survived by two sons, James Robert Chism & his wife, Amanda of Vine Grove, KY, John Lamar Chism of Ekron, KY; five grandchildren, Emma, Brayden, Graham, Macie, Charlotte; a special friend & caregiver, Doris Benningfield; two sisters, Joyce Bryson, Margie Conder both of Louisville; one brother, Jimmy Chism of Louisville, KY; two nieces, Tina Branham, Wendy Conder both of Louisville; and a host of extended family & many friends.

Visitation will be from 3:00 PM until 8:00 PM, Wednesday, June 19, 2024 and from 9:00 AM until 1:00 PM, Thursday, June 20, 2024 at Chism Family Funeral Home, Vine Grove, KY.

Funeral services for Mr. Chism will be held at 2:00 PM, Thursday, June 20, 2024 at Ekron Baptist Church with Brother Tom Curry officiating. A private burial will follow the funeral service.
