Brenda Ann (Richardson) Bewley

Brenda Ann Richardson Bewley, 80, of Vine Grove, KY passed away Wednesday, August 3, 2022 at her residence.

Mrs. Bewley was known as “Miss Brenda” to hundreds of children as she was the owner and director of Sunny Hill Child Care Center. Mrs. Bewley and her late husband, David Bewley, built Sunny Hill and opened the center in August of 1978 and closed in May of 1994. After a short retirement, Miss Brenda returned to Sunny Hill when her daughter, Kelly Mooney, reopened the center in March of 1997 and they worked together until May of 2013. She spent 32 years at Sunny Hill loving, teaching, and caring for children & families of Hardin and Meade County. Mrs. Bewley was a member of Franklin Crossroads Baptist Church, Cecilia, KY.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, David Bewley; her parents, Aud & Ida Richardson; eight siblings, Haynes Richardson, Dee Richardson, Marvin Richardson, Hubert Richardson, Lura Meredith, Lorena Barnes, Velma Hilton and Frances Newhart.  

Survivors include her three children, Davie Keith Bewley & his wife, Melinda of Vine Grove, KY, Phillip Bewley & his wife, Julie of Elizabethtown, KY, Kelly Mooney & her husband, Scott of Vine Grove, KY; six grandchildren, Sara Scarborough (J.J.), Corey Bewley (Tracy), Paige Wethington (Austin), Payton Clark (Lane), Heather Mooney, Hannah Mooney; six great grandchildren, Janie, Celia, Brady, JR, Avery, Hadley; and a host of extended family & friends.

Visitation will be from 10:00 AM until 2:00 PM, Monday, August 8, 2022 at Chism Family Funeral Home, Vine Grove, KY.

Funeral services for Mrs. Bewley will be held at 2:00 PM, Monday, August 8, 2022 at the chapel of Chism Family Funeral Home, Vine Grove, KY with Brother Ron Davis officiating. Burial will follow at the Elizabethtown Memorial Gardens.
