Carter Woods Obituary

Newell Carter Woods, 78, of El Dorado, Kansas; passed away Thursday, July 3, 2025, in Fort Knox, Kentucky. He was born Monday, October 28, 1946, in Dodge City, Kansas, to George Andrew and Thelma Lucille Coleman Woods.

Carter was a devoted father to four children, instilling in them a deep love for Christ, their country, and the joy of music. Whether strumming his guitar, picking his banjo, or simply tuning into the radio, Carter filled every space with the melodies of his warm generous heart. Carter was also known for filling spaces with wayward animals as well. In his children and grandchildren that legacy of music continues to echo along with his love of animals. He earned an Associate’s degree in Construction Science from Garden City Community College and went on to build a successful small business as a general contractor, combining his knowledge with a strong work ethic and passion for craftsmanship.
