Cecil W. Caruso

Cecil W. “Buck” Caruso, 86, of Vine Grove, KY passed away Tuesday, February 18, 2026 at Baptist Health Hardin, Elizabethtown, KY.

Mr. Caruso was born in Fayetteville, NC on August 23, 1939 to the late Henry A. & Annie R. Caruso.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Gertrud M. Caruso.

Mr. Caruso served three tours in Vietnam having retired from the United States Army with twenty-two years of service. He was a lifetime member of V.F.W. Post #10281. He served as State Commander of the V.F.W. from 1992-1993 and also served as State Adjutant/Quartermaster from 1995-2005.

Survivors include two sons, Donald A. Caruso, Mark Caruso; one daughter, Tonya A. Mendoza-Vazquez; a sister, Mary Shepherd; four grandchildren; and a host of extended family & friends.

Visitation will be from 11:00 AM until 12:00 PM, Friday, February 27, 2026 at Chism Family Funeral Home.

A Memorial Service will be held at 12:00 PM, Friday, February 27, 2026 at the chapel of Chism Family Funeral Home. A committal service with military honors will follow at the Kentucky Veterans Cemetery Central, Radcliff, KY.
