Chester Stanley Frydrych, 93, of Radcliff, KY passed away on September 16, 2021.
Mr. Frydrych was born in Sarny, Poland on April 8, 1928. In 1939, his family was forced to a Siberian Labor Camp. In 1942, he and his siblings were sent as refugees to Leon, Mexico where they stayed until the war ended. This group of refugees were known as the Poles of Santa Rosa. The siblings were then able to move to the United States where Mr. Frydrych joined the United States Army and became a Naturalized Citizen. After he retired from the Army, he opened his own photography studio where he took portraits, capturing wedding and other life events throughout Radcliff. He was the photographer for The Sentinel newspaper for many years.
Mr. Frydrych was a lifetime member of the V.F. W. Post 10281, the American Legion Post 113 and the Knights of Columbus Council 3379. He was awarded three Bronze Stars for his service in Korea and Vietnam.
He was preceded in death by his wife Anna Frydrych, his son Tony, his parents Stansilaw and Antionia Frydrych, sisters Halina, Irene, Joann, Mary, Stasia and brother Julian.
Survivors include daughters Vicki Frydrych Dukehart of Murfreesboro TN and Shannon Bruner of Elizabethtown, grandchildren Lindsay (Chris) Stoltz and Jordan Dukehart of Nashville TN, Cristian (Kelsey) DeJesus of Jacksonville NC and Jared Watson of Elizabethtown, great grandson Collin Stoltz and another great grandson due later this year.
Visitation will be 9:30 AM until 11:00 AM Tuesday, September 21, 2021 at St. Christopher’s Catholic Church in Radcliff KY. The funeral Mass will follow at 11:00 AM. Burial will follow at North Hardin Memorial Gardens.
