Darvin David Wockenfuss Obituary

Darvin David Wockenfuss, 73, Elizabethtown, KY., passed away on May 7, 2026, at his residence.


Darvin was born in Aberdeen, South Dakota and eventually made Hardin County his home. He was an US Army Veteran, worked Civil Service in the Mess Hall, and at Pirates Cove Marina for 27 years. He loved his family endlessly; including his children, grandchildren, and great- grandchildren. His favorite pastime was fishing and watching sports.  


He was preceded in death by his wife, Hazel Wockenfuss, and his parents, Hebert and Ardella Weisenberger Wockenfuss.


He is survived by three children, a son, James Wockenfuss;  two daughters, Melissa and Alicia Wockenfuss; seven grandchildren, Vanessa, Kimberly, Maddie, Adoria, Brooke, Alona, and Cassie; six brothers Duane, Jim, John, Gary, Jared, and Gene Wockenfuss;  and several great- grandchildren, nieces,  and nephews.  He loved all of them dearly.


Celebration of Life will be from 12:00 PM until 2:00 PM, Monday, May 18, 2026, at Chism Family Funeral Home.


Burial with military honors will follow at Kentucky Veterans Cemetery Central, Radcliff, KY.
