Daurice D. Cato

Daurice D. Cato, 92, of Radcliff, KY passed away peacefully at her home the morning of Wednesday, January 25, 2023, surrounded by loved ones.

She was born November 19, 1930 in Sandywood, Missouri and was of Baptist faith. Daurice married her high school sweetheart, Earl Cato on May 14, 1949. Daurice was a devoted wife, mother, daughter, Mamo, great Mamo, aunt, and friend to many. When her husband Earl retired from the Army in 1969, they settled in Radcliff. After working many years Civil Service at Fort Knox, she joined the family real estate business in Radcliff. This was followed by her total involvement of building the Gold Vault Inn from the ground up.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Earl L. Cato; her parents, Buck & Esther Powell; two brothers, Charlie Powell, Chester Powell; and one grandson, Eddie L. Cato Jr.

She is survived by one daughter, Barbara Cato Hawkins & her husband, Jim; one son, Eddie L. Cato; and her most recent ray of sunshine a great grandson, Elliott Cato and a host of extended family & friends.

Visitation will be from 11:00 AM until 2:00 PM Saturday, January 28, 2023 at Chism Family Funeral Home, Vine Grove, KY.

Funeral services for Mrs. Cato will be held at 2:00 PM, Saturday, January 28, 2023 at the chapel of Chism Family Funeral Home, Vine Grove, KY with Rev. Rudy Stacy officiating. Burial will follow at North Hardin Memorial Gardens, Radcliff, KY.
