Dottie (Vertrees) Severs

Dorothy Jean Vertrees Severs, affectionately known as "Dottie," passed away peacefully on Tuesday, October 3, 2023 in Florida. Born in Louisville, Kentucky on August 27, 1939, Dottie brought joy and warmth to her family and friends.

Dottie was preceded in death by her son, Robin Davidson, and five siblings: Roy Vertrees, Raymond Vertrees, Gertrude Diebold, Bertha Pierce, and Louise Peters. She is survived by her loving daughter, Regina Davidson; her caring siblings Bonnie Miller, Alice Bennett, Johnnie Vertrees, and Freddie Vertrees, a grand-dog, Harley; and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family and many friends who called her Gamma Dottie.

Dottie spent her professional career at Gates Rubber Company in Elizabethtown, Kentucky. Crafting was a particular passion of hers, with her handiwork bringing beauty and creativity into the lives of those around her. She had a strong love for gospel music. Above all, Dottie cherished spending time with her family, creating lasting memories that they will treasure forever.

Visitation will be from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM, Tuesday, October 10, 2023 and from 11:00 AM until 2:00 PM, Wednesday, October 11, 2023 at Chism Family Funeral Home, Vine Grove, KY.

Funeral services for Ms. Severs will be held at 2:00 PM, Wednesday, October 11, 2023 at the chapel of Chism Family Funeral Home, Vine Grove, KY. Burial will follow at North Hardin Memorial Gardens, Radcliff, KY.
