Edna (Reed) Cutshaw Zaring

Ms. Edna Reed Cutshaw Zaring, 89, went home to be the Lord on Thursday, February 11, 2021, in Louisville Kentucky.

A native of Shelbyville she was the daughter of the late Mr. Edwin Reed and Jessie Reed of Shelbyville. In addition to her parents, her son Edwin Gary Cutshaw (4 months old), her sister Willetta Louise Long, brothers: Byron Reed and Horace Reed preceded her in death.

Edna was a graduate of Shelbyville High School. She enlisted in the Women's Army Corp and took her basic training at Fort Lee, Virginia. After her graduation, she was transferred to Quantico, Virginia for special training, then transferred to Fort Meyers, Va. There she was assigned to work in the Pentagon in Washington DC for G-2 Intelligence. After her tour of duty was completed, she and her husband made their home in Franklin County, Ky. She became a homemaker and mother. She is a member of the First Christian Church in Shelbyville.

Left to cherish her memory are her caretaker and daughter Sharon Miles (Cutshaw), her son Byron Grey Cutshaw; her grandchildren, Abbie Frank (Jimmy), Christina Lynn Grenell, Leila Gabrovec (Aleš), and Cassandra Donn Cutshaw; her great-grandchildren, Tristan, Emma, Cambri, Harper, and Rhett; her sister Georgia "Dee" Hochstrasser.
She loved her family, her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren with all of her heart and also her best friends; Alva Hochstrasser Hardwick and Naomi Graybeal (deceased).

Visitation will be from 12:00 PM until 5:00 PM, Sunday, February 21, 2021 and from 11:00 AM until 1:30 PM, Monday, February 22, 2021 at Chism Family Funeral Home, Vine Grove, KY.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 PM, February 22, 2021 at the chapel of Chism Family Funeral Home, Vine Grove, KY. Burial with military honors will follow at the Kentucky Veterans Cemetery Central, Radcliff, KY.
