Elizabeth Ann Whelan, 91, of Vine Grove, KY passed away Monday, October 7, 2024 at Tender Touch, Elizabethtown, KY with her children by her side.

Mrs. Whelan was a lifelong member of St. Brigid Catholic Church, Vine Grove, KY and she was retired from the Fort Knox Federal Credit Union.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Raphael “Dee” Whelan; her parents, Joe & Elizabeth Dunn Thomas; five brothers, Kenneth Thomas, Vincent Thomas, Warden Thomas, Marion Thomas, Dean Thomas; and one sister, Wava Goodman.

Mrs. Whelan is survived by one daughter, Gail Tassin & her husband, Keith; two sons, DeNeil Whelan & his wife, Linda, Larry Whelan & his wife, Paulette; seven grandchildren; two step grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren; one sister, Betty Jean Hager; one brother, Randal Dalph Thomas; and a host of extended family & friends.

Visitation will be from 2:30 PM until 7:00 PM, Thursday, October 10, 2024 and from 9:00 AM until 10:30 AM Friday, October 11, 2024 at Chism Family Funeral Home, Vine Grove, KY. A prayer service will be held at 6:00 PM, Thursday at the funeral home.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 AM, Friday, October 11, 2024 at St. Brigid Catholic Church, Vine Grove, KY with Rev. Ben Brown officiating. Burial will follow at the St. Brigid Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or Disabled American Veterans.
