Gertrud “Elke” Smith, 81, of formerly of Radcliff, KY passed away Thursday, October 31, 2024 at Norton Brownsboro Hospital.

Mrs. Smith was a former member of the North Hardin Lions Club.
She found joy in the simple pleasures of life. Her kitchen was a place of gathering and delight, as she poured her love into every dish she prepared. Crocheting was not just a hobby for Gertrud but an extension of her creativity, crafting blankets and scarves that would wrap her loved ones in the comfort of her care.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard L. Smith.

Survivors include two children, Michael Smith (Deanna), Christina Gray (David); four grandchildren, Kyle, Kaitlynn, Stuart (Shelby), Erin; four siblings, Irene, Udo, Hildegard, Irmgard; and a host of extended family & friends.

A graveside service will be held at 10:30 AM, Monday, November 25, 2024 at the Kentucky Veterans Cemetery Central, Radcliff, KY with Deacon Mike Ryan officiating.
