Ernest Emig

CW4 (RET) Ernest Alan Emig, 69, of Elizabethtown, KY passed away Wednesday, September 8, 2021 at Norton Audubon Hospital, Louisville, KY.

Mr. Emig was retired from the United States Army. Following his service he worked at HRC on Fort Knox where he retired as facility manager. He was a member of the Warrant Officer Association.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Edward & Evelyn Emig; one sister, Ruth Ann Prichard.

Survivors include: his loving wife of 50 years, Sheila Emig; two children, Cindy Lyvers (Frank), Daniel Emig (Desiree); eight grandchildren, Geoffrey (Hannah), Devon (Josh), Connor (Dakota), Dorian, Rylan, Dylan, Drew, Brogan; two brothers, Eugene Emig, Edward Emig Jr.; several loving nieces, nephews & extended family members.

Visitation will be from 11:00 AM until 1:30 PM, Wednesday, September 29, 2021 Chism Family Funeral Home, Vine Grove, KY.

Funeral services for Mr. Emig will be held at 1:30 PM, Wednesday, September 29, 2021 at the chapel of Chism Family Funeral Home, Vine Grove, KY with Chaplain Homer Wine officiating. Interment with military honors will follow at the Kentucky Veterans Cemetery Central, Radcliff, KY.
