Gary Allan Houk

CW3 (RET) Gary Allan Houk, 76, of Vine Grove, KY passed away Saturday, June 13, 2020 at Hardin Memorial Health, Elizabethtown, KY.

Mr. Houk was retired from the United States Army and a veteran of the Vietnam War.

He was preceded in death by three children, Brenda Taylor, Patricia Taylor, Kandy Jo Houk; his first wife, Donna Jean Houk; his parents, Milton & Beatrice Houk; one granddaughter, Haley Nicole Ogden; two brothers, Skip Houk, and Tom Houk.

Survivors include his loving wife of fifty years, Frances Houk of Vine Grove, KY; seven children, Valecia Harper & her husband, Don of Rineyville, KY, Carolyn Taylor of Elizabethtown, KY, Rick Taylor of Vine Grove, KY, Tammy Dages & her husband, Chuck of Elizabethtown, KY, Kristy Dohn & her husband, Eddie of Rineyville, KY, Pam Ogden of Vine Grove, KY, Scott Houk & his wife, Leatha of Columbus, OH; one sister, Elaine Ellifson of Wisconsin; two brothers, Jerry Houk of Idaho, Pat Houk of Minnesota; eighteen grandchildren, Brian + Angela + Todd + Amy + Christy + Melissa + Jacob Harper, Shane + Marnie Dudek, Amber Hess, Alan Wood, Brandon Pike, Kaitlyn Dages, Chase Dohn, Sy + Tyler Ogden, Matthew + Kyle + Elizabeth Houk; twenty two great grandchildren; and a host of family & friends.

Visitation will be from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM, Tuesday, June 16, 2020 at Chism Family Funeral Home, Vine Grove, KY.

A funeral service with military honors for Mr. Houk will be held at 7:00 PM, Tuesday, June 16, 2020 at the chapel of Chism Family Funeral Home, Vine Grove, KY. A private graveside service will be held at the Kentucky Veterans Cemetery Central, Radcliff, KY at a later date.
