George Burdette Hillyer Obituary

George Burdette Hillyer, 82, passed away at his residence in Radcliff, KY on July 14, 2024.

He is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Betty Darlene Hillyer; four children, Rodger (Kelly) Hillyer, Sheri (Larry) McQuade, Kevin (Angela) Hillyer, Michael (Kelly) Hermsmeyer and one dog son, Scooter; six grandchildren, Cameron (Maggie) Finley, Catherine McQuade, Courtney Webb, Monica (Dustin) Allen, Kelsey Blanchard, and Kyle McClelland; six great grandchildren; one sister, Gloria Carnahan; several nieces and nephews and a host of extended family & friends.

He was proceeded in death by his parents, Paul Collins and Jessica Joyce Collins; one brother, Gaylord Hodge.

George was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, uncle and friend. He served in the United States Army for 28 years and was apart of the 101st Airborne Division. George owned and operated The Blackhawk Trading Post. He was also a member of St. Christopher Church and Council 3379 of the Knights of Columbus holding a position of forth degree.

Visitation will be from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM, Saturday, July 20, 2024 at Saint Christopher Church, Radcliff, KY.

Funeral services for Mr. Hillyer will be held at 11:00 AM, Saturday, July 20, 2024 at Saint Christopher Church, Radcliff, KY with Father Jeff Hopper officiating. Burial will follow at the North Hardin Memorial Gardens in Radcliff, KY with Military Honors.
