George Vincent Redmond, 96, better known as “Chub” to those close to him, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on the evening of March 25, 2026.
A gregarious, talkative, and good-natured man who never met a stranger, George was the beloved patriarch of a large family consisting of seven children, twenty grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.
Born on July 20, 1929, and raised in the tough conditions of the Great Depression, George began working at an early age to support his family after his father was stricken with Parkinson’s Disease, developing a strong work ethic that he would carry with him throughout his life.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 63 years, Margaret, and is survived by his sons, Vincent, Eric, Michael, Stephen, Jarrett, and James, as well as his daughter Ramona. He will be deeply missed.
Family will receive visitors on Monday, March 30, 2026 from 10:00 AM to 11:45 AM at Chism Family Funeral Home in Vine Grove, KY.
A Funeral Mass will be said for him at 12:00 PM on Monday, March 30, 2026, at St. Christopher Parish in Radcliff, KY.
Burial will follow the Mass of Christian Burial at St. Brigid Cemetery, Vine Grove, KY.
