Geraldine Marie Lucey, known affectionately as Geri, passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 12, 2023, in Elizabethtown, Kentucky, after a brave battle with ALS. Born in Philadelphia, PA, on Tuesday, May 20, 1947, Geri was a beacon of light and love to all who were fortunate enough to know her.
Geri was the beloved wife of Ken Lucey, a cherished mother to her three daughters, Elizabeth Gamble, Kenna Tribble, and Meghan Freeman, and a beloved grandmother to her ten grandchildren. She also shared her love and joy with three great-grandchildren, six siblings, and a large extended family of nieces, nephews, and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Emil and Patricia Offner, her brother, Bill Offner, and her son-in-law, Bill Gamble.
Geri devoted her life to caring for others, both in her personal life and her professional career. For 15 years, she worked as an after-school provider at St. Christopher School in Radcliff, KY, where she was treasured by students and staff alike for her kindness, patience, and dedication. Her passion for service extended beyond the walls of the school, as she also served as a volunteer firefighter for six years at the Vine Grove Fire Department.
Above all, Geri's greatest joy was her family. She embraced every moment with her loved ones, especially her grandchildren. She had a unique ability to make every family gathering feel special, filling every room with laughter and love. Her family will remember her for her infectious positivity, her warm hugs, and her delicious homemade cookies.
