Jack Smith, 83, of Elizabethtown, KY passed away Thursday, June 26, 2025 at Baptist Health Hardin, Elizabethtown, KY.  

Mr. Smith was a decorated veteran, having served with honor and bravery in the United States Army, completing two tours in Vietnam. Jack's interests were as rich and varied as his personality. He was an avid fisherman, had a passion for movies, classical music, and the enchanting world of Disney.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Oscar & Edna Smith; two brothers, Charles Smith and Donald Smith.

Mr. Smith is survived by his wife of 50 years, Kathleen Smith; his daughter, April Nutt (Richard) & her children, Katy, Addison, Tobias; his daughter, Kristine Hay & her children, T.J., Kayla, Alexandria; three great grandchildren; and a host of extended family & friends.

Visitation will be from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM, Wednesday, July 2, 2025 and from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM, Thursday, July 3, 2025 at Chism Family Funeral Home.

Funeral service for Mr. Smith will be held at 1:00 PM, Thursday, July 3, 2025 at the chapel of Chism Family Funeral Home. Burial with military honors will follow at the Kentucky Veterans Cemetery Central, Radcliff, KY.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Friends of Hardin County Animal Shelter or any favorite veteran charity of choice.
