James L. Rogers

James Leslie Rogers, 90, of Garfield, Kentucky was born on Saturday, January 7, 1933, in Marissa, Illinois and passed away peacefully on Wednesday, November 1, 2023, at Baptist Health Hardin in Elizabethtown, Kentucky.

He is survived by his wife of 32 years, Joyce Rogers, four children, Rick, Linda, Julie, and Christopher. He also embraced his role as a stepfather to Violet, Walter, David, Darryl, Joyce, Jason, Edward, and Wayne. James was a proud grandfather and also leaves behind a host of extended family and friends who will miss him.

A proud patriot, James served his country with dedication and honor in the United States Army. Following his retirement, he continued to contribute to his community as a member of the V.F.W. Post 10281, Vine Grove, KY, and American Legion Post 113, Elizabethtown, KY. His commitment to service was a testament to his selfless nature and his belief in the power of community. In addition to his professional accomplishments, James was known for his love of cooking and gardening.

Visitation will be from 3:00 PM until 6:00 PM, Monday, November 13, 2023 and from 12:00 PM until 1:30 PM, Tuesday, November 14, 2023 at Chism Family Funeral Home, Vine Grove, KY.

Funeral services for Mr. Rogers will be held 1:30 PM, Tuesday, November 14, 2023 at the chapel of Chism Family Funeral Home, Vine Grove, KY. A graveside service with military honors will follow at the Kentucky Veterans Cemetery Central, Radcliff, KY.
