Janet Sue (Malone) Sydnor Obituary
Janet Sue Sydnor, 62, of Big Clifty, KY -- the daughter of the late James Malone, and Jean Carol Ward, passed peacefully to our heavenly father on February 6, 2026 at Jewish Hospital in Louisville, Kentucky.
Janet, also known to most as “Bobo,” was a dedicated wife, daughter, sister, mother, grandmother, aunt, and friend. She was born on May 25, 1963 to the late James Malone, and Jean Carol Ward in Fort Campbell, KY. She was a natural born caretaker, with a huge heart and compassion for those who crossed her path. She never hesitated to tell you exactly how she felt, and that never changed in her short journey here on earth.
She was preceded in death, and welcomed with open arms, by her father, James Malone, and two grandchildren Peyton Mae and Samuel Lee Curtsinger.
Those left to carry her legacy, and cherish her memory are her loving, dedicated, hardworking husband Montie Sydnor, her loving mother and stepfather Jean and Paul Ward, loyal sisters Barbara Noll (David Coyle), and Becky Carpenter (Steve), her beautiful daughters April Buchanan, and Kelly Curtsinger (Tristan). Three grandchildren, Leah, Madison, and Austin Buchanan. A former brother-in-law, turned brother for life, Matthew Brock. And a tribe of nieces and nephews, great nieces, and great nephews that worshiped the ground she walked on, and that she treated like her own children.
Janet spent her entire life making sure everyone around her felt welcome, loved, and wanted. She was a fierce protector, a wonderful unpaid counselor, a stubborn mule somedays, but had a passion for life and her family. She touched many with her wisdom, humor, and her love. She enjoyed living the simple life on the farm with her immediate family, but never wavered in her dedication to stay in touch with friends and family near and far. Janet may not have always had the answers, but you always knew you would not face any problem alone when you went to her with anything. Janet was a lover of her grandkids, great nieces, and nephews, and allowed that to take up the joyous days of her life. She never considered it babysitting -- but hanging out with the kids. Kids of all ages, especially the young ones were always “home” at “Bo-Nana’s” house.
