Jennifer Elizabeth Hess, known affectionately to all as Jenny, passed away peacefully on Monday, October 2, 2023, at Baptist Health Hardin, Elizabethtown, Kentucky. Born on Tuesday, October 27, 1970, Jenny’s life was a testament to the love she had for her family, and her many passions.
Jenny was a graduate of West Hardin High School and furthered her education at Elizabethtown Community College. She was a member of the Franklin Crossroads Baptist Church in Cecilia, KY. Jenny’s professional life was rooted in her community as well, where she served as a Pharmacy Technician at Winn Dixie. Her dedication to her work was evident in her commitment to her customers, always ensuring they received the best care possible.
Jenny had a love for the outdoors which included strolling and light gardening. Her love for crafts gave her a creative outlet. She also enjoyed baking and was known for her delicious cookies.
Jenny was selfless in every sense of the word. She always put the needs of others before her own, a trait that was especially evident in her devotion to her family and grandchildren. Her love for her family was immeasurable, and she cherished spending quality time with them. Her grandchildren, Amelia, Scott, Wayne, and George, was close to her heart, and she made every effort to be a big part of their lives.
She was preceded in death by her father, Larry Veirs, a stepfather, James Hall, and a half brother, Chuckie.
Jenny is survived by her loving husband, Mark Hess, and one son, Justin Ellis, who is married to Aleia. She also leaves behind her mother, Patricia Hall, and her two sisters, Jackie Edlin and Stephanie Veirs, her stepmother, Karen Veirs, a stepbrother, James Long, a half brother, Michael Veirs, and a host of extended family & friends.
Please join us for a memorial service to celebrate the life of Jenny at Freeman Lake Searle Pavillion in Elizabethtown, KY. We will gather together on her 53rd Birthday, Friday, October 27, 2023 from 11:00 AM until 7:00 PM. The funeral service will start at 5:00 PM. We will gather to remember our wonderful Mom, Mammaw, Wife, Sister, Daughter, and Friend who will be greatly missed. Please bring your fondest memories of Jenny to share with family and friends.
