Jeremy Tatum Finney, 25, of Vine Grove, Kentucky, passed away Wednesday, July 8, 2026 at University of Louisville Hospital.

He found great joy in the outdoors, where he felt most at home. Hiking gave him the opportunity to experience nature up close, and he appreciated the challenge, peace, and sense of freedom that came with every journey. He also enjoyed kayaking, where water and movement combined to give him moments of calm and excitement alike. These interests along with video games are a few things he loved about life.  

He was preceded in death by his mother, Heather Finney and his grandfather, Joseph Finney.

Survivors include his father, Josh Finney(Tonya); three brothers, Matthew, Austin, and Kyle Finney. His grandparents, Jan Peterson, Cindy Finney, Lou Day (Tim), Robert Carter (Karen), and a host of family and friends.

Visitation will be Sunday, July 12, 2026, from 2:00 PM until 3:00 PM, at Chism Family Funeral Home in Vine Grove, KY.

Funeral services for Mr. Finney will be at 3:00 PM on Sunday, July 12, 2026, at the chapel of Chism Family Funeral Home in Vine Grove, KY with Brother Ben Underhill officiating. Burial will follow at Otter Creek Cemetery, Vine Grove, KY.
