Jesse McGuffin

Jesse Boyd McGuffin, age 87, passed away peacefully on September 25, 2023, in Louisville, Kentucky. He was born on September 6, 1936, in Hardin County, Kentucky, to Jess and Mayme McGuffin.

Jesse was a dedicated professional, spending many years as a butcher for Houchens. He was not just a butcher but a friend to his customers, always ready with a friendly smile and willing to go the extra mile for those he served.

Beyond his professional life, Jesse had a deep love for gardening. It was not uncommon to find Jesse tending to his garden, with a contented smile on his face as he worked.

Jesse was preceded in death by his parents, Jess and Mayme McGuffin, his brother Jackie, and his two sisters, Lina Sue Thomas, and Teresa Helm. He is survived by his companion of 30 years, Annette Beene, his two daughters, Valerie Lambert (Norman) and Jessica Sprigler (Eric), and his four grandchildren, Andria Paris (Kirt), Amanda Smith (Thomas), Heather Davis (Robbie), and Zachary Skaggs. He also leaves behind his five great-grandchildren, Anya Paris, Ariana Paris, Laney Smith, Norah Davis, and Cohen Davis. Jesse also leaves behind his two brothers, Roger and Vernie McGuffin, his sister Diana Williams, and a host of extended family members and friends.

A graveside service will be held at 1:00 PM, Saturday, September 30, 2023 at North Hardin Memorial Gardens, Radcliff, KY.
