Joan (Dowell) Griffith

Joan Griffith, 79, of Bardstown, KY formerly of PRP, passed away Tuesday, August 28, 2018 at her residence.

Mrs. Griffith was a graduate of Irvington High School and while growing up she was a member of St. Martin of Tours Catholic Church, Flaherty, KY.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Ford & Bea Dowell; and a sister, Pamela Dowell.

Survivors include:
Her husband of 60 years, George Griffith of Bardstown, KY; three children, Mike Griffith & his wife, Lovine of Bullitt County, KY, Cindy Cornett & her husband, Charlie of of New Haven, KY, Rick Griffith & his wife, Teresa of Oklahoma; two grandchildren, Katie Kippes (Devin) of New Hope, KY, Angela Kippes of Mount Washington, KY; one brother, Steve Dowell & his wife, Rita of Richland, WA; several cousins, family and friends.

Visitation will begin after 3:00 PM Friday at the Chism Family Funeral Home, Vine Grove, KY.

A prayer service will be held at 7:00 PM, Friday, August 31, 2018 at the chapel of Chism Family Funeral Home, Vine Grove, KY.

A graveside service will be held at 12:00 PM, Tuesday, September 4, 2018 at the Big Spring Baptist Church Cemetery.
