It is with the heaviest of hearts that we share the heartbreaking news of the passing of Joseph Poddam, 47, of Eastview, KY who lost his life on Monday, June 16, 2025, in a tragic motorcycle accident, doing what he loved.

Joe was a man of strength, loyalty, with a heart of gold. A United States Marine, he carried his values of honor and commitment into every part of his life. But above all else, he was a devoted husband to his beloved wife, Vanessa, and a proud, adoring father to their daughter, Joelie. Joe lit up when he talked about them — his love for his family was deep, unwavering, and evident in every choice he made. They were his world.

He had a fierce love for life outside of work — especially when it came to the open road. Joe found joy and freedom on his motorcycle and ATVs. Whether he was blazing a trail through the woods or cruising on two wheels, it was clear: he was in his element.

At home, Joe was rarely seen without his loyal Rottweilers by his side — they were as much a part of the family as anyone, and he loved them fiercely. His bond with them spoke to his quiet tenderness, which shone through his strong exterior.

Those who knew Joe will remember his toughness, his sharp skills, and his quiet but powerful presence. But they’ll also remember his dry wit, his loyalty, and that rare mix of grit and heart that made him truly unforgettable.

In accordance with the family’s wishes, there will be no formal service. Joe has been cremated, and his loved ones ask that instead of mourning in a traditional way, you honor him by living life the way he did — with courage, passion, and totally unapologetic. Hug your family, ride hard, laugh often, be loyal, and never take a single day for granted.

The world is dimmer without him in it, and our hearts ache for his loss. We hold Vanessa and Joelie close in our thoughts, now and always.
