John Robert Carney

John Robert Carney, 74, of Vine Grove, KY passed away Wednesday, July 30, 2025 at the Signature Healthcare of Elizabethtown.

Mr. Carney was a veteran of the Vietnam War having served in the United States Marine Corps. John continued his journey of service with the Belle Glade Police Department and then retiring as a homicide detective with the Palm Beach County Sheriff Office. John was not only defined by his professional achievements but also by his passions and interests. He was an avid golfer who also had a passion for scuba diving and fishing. John's zest for life was infectious and he enjoyed being around his family & friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, Robert George "Bob" Carney; his mother, June Margaret Carney; and a sister, Mary Janet Carney.

Mr. Carney is survived by two children, John Robert "Bo" Carney II, Sarah Ann Seaborne (Austin); two grandchildren, John Robert "Lil Bo" Carney III, Audrey Seaborne; two brothers, Ed Carney (Patty), Dennis Carney (Jane); and a host of extended family & friends.

Cremation was chosen by the family.
