John W. Keabler, 82, of Elizabethtown, KY went home on Friday, September 13, 2024 to be with the Lord.

John served as a police officer for Kentucky State Police, Jefferson County Police Department, Riverton Police Department in Wyoming, Elizabethtown Police Department and Hardin County Sheriff Office. His career spanned from 1967 to 2013. During his career he served many different areas including Detective, Swat, Vice and Sergeant. John also served honorably in the United States Air Force prior to entering his police career

John was married to Robin Finn Keabler who was a civilian employee of the JCPD. John & Robin were married for 49 years and had one son, John II who gave him twin grandchildren who were the light of his life.

John is survived by is wife, Robin; son, John II (Katie); his twin grandchildren, Vaughn & Juddson; a sister, Carole Carter (Joe Bill); a brother, Richard Keabler; and a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews & friends.

John was a member of FOP Lodge 614. With him being wheelchair bound he had been attending Salt and Light Baptist Church, Crestwood, KY via the internet.

A graveside service with military honors will be held at 1:30 PM, Thursday, September 26, 2024 at the Kentucky Veterans Cemetery Central, Radcliff, KY.
