Joseph "Joe" Ferrill Fowler passed away in his home, on December 27th, 2024, surrounded by friends and family after his hard-fought battle with cancer.
Joe was born in Louisville, KY and was raised in Saint Stephens church and graduated from St. Xavier and the University of Louisville. He moved to Elizabethtown where he worked for over 40 years. He retired after a 27-year career with Soudal Accumetric as VP of Operations/Technology and then continued his civic work as President and CEO of United Way Central Kentucky. Throughout the years, Joe also served on the boards of Big Brother Big Sister and the Hardin County School District, coached recreational sports and high school soccer, and officiated for KHSAA.
Joseph Fowler was proceeded in his death by his mother, Dorthy Hall Fowler, his father, Ferrill Joseph Fowler, his sister Peggy Fowler Bennett, and his brother, Dr. Kenneth Edward Fowler.
He is survived by his wife of 25 years, Ramona Yates Fowler, his daughters, Janella Sanders (Jason Sanders) and Jennifer Fowler (William Meredith), his son, Charlie Pike (Donielle Pike), his brothers, James Robert Fowler and William Paul Fowler, his sister, Pamela Fowler Braun, and his grandchildren, Lillian Meredith, Joseph Ryder Meredith, Jorja Sanders, Hudson Tyler, John Sanders, and Ruby Pike.
Joe will be remembered as a loving father, husband, friend and “Poppy,” and the new member of the Heavenly Foursome.
A Celebration of the Life of Joe Fowler will be held from 4:00 PM until 9:00 PM with an Eternal Prayer at 6:00 PM and an invitation to share a memory following, on Saturday, January 18, 2025 at The Haycraft, 319 E. Dixie Hwy, Elizabethtown, KY. Please dress casual and there will be hors d'oeuvres and refreshmants.
