Joseph Patrick Metcalf, 68, of Bardstown, KY, passed away at Flaget Memorial Hospital, Bardstown, Kentucky, on July 14, 2026.

Mr. Metcalf worked as a welder and also in construction for many years. He would often be found drawing or painting in his spare time. Catching him reading a book wouldn’t be out of the ordinary.  

He was preceded in death by his father, William Metcalf; and one brother, William Charlie Metcalf.

Survivors include his loving wife, Lillie; three sons, Shawn, Eddie, and Shane Metcalf; five grandchildren; one great-grandchild, Cassie Marie Kiefer; his mother, Mary Lucille Raisor; one sister, Denise Stone; one brother George Metcalf; and a host of family and friends.

Visitation will be Tuesday, July 21, 2026, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM, at Chism Family Funeral Home in Vine Grove, KY.

Funeral services for Mr. Metcalf will be at 7:00 PM on Tuesday, July 21, 2026, at the chapel of Chism Family Funeral Home in Vine Grove, KY.

Cremation was chosen by the family.
