Joseph Soriano Rosario

1SG (RET) Joseph Soriano Rosario, 72, AKA "Joe". Familian "Tiyu", "Nganga", passed away on Thursday, September 30, 2021.   

He served 23 years in the United States Army. He is a Vietnam Veteran, Kentucky Colonel and 4th degree Knights of Columbus. He was an avid bowler for many years on Fort Knox. Loved watching his University of Louisville, basketball and football.

In his new life, he will be met at the gates of Heaven by his paternal grandparents, Pedro Pangelinan & Rosa Guerrero Lujan Rosario; paternal parents, Manuel Lujan Rosario & Catalina Castro Aguon; stepmother, Lucia Garcia Soriano Rosario; brothers, sisters and their spouses, Edward A. & Trinidad L.G. Quintanilla, Estella A.Q. & Juan Carriaga, Rosario A.Q. & Vicente Martinez Taitano, Vicente A. & Felicita Salas Quichocho Quintanilla, Alfredo A. & Frances Nauta Quintanilla, Alexander A. & Albina Salas  Quintanilla, Anthony William Tackney; a brother in law, Juan A. Angoco; and parent-in-laws, Ernest & Irene Deocampo.

He leaves behind a loving wife of over 52 years, Chita Rosario; children, Jocelyn Rosario, Julie Debibar (Peter), Jonathan Rosario; an adopted son, Bruce Golden; grandchildren, Marita Apatang (TJ), Nina Marie Schinlaub (Josh), John-Paul “JP” Debibar (fiancee, Sarah Flowers), Tanisha Jackson (Kyle Simmons), Kimo Debibar, Kalani Rizor; great grandchildren, Mikaela, Gabriella, Terran, Mariana, Jeremiah, Manuia, Cameron, Sophia, Aire; siblings, Darlene A. Angoco, Asan, Guam, David D. & Vivian Tackney, Las Vegas, NV, Rosita A. Romeo Miranda, Kapolei, HI, Mary Cruz Tackney, Sinajana, Guam. Joe will be missed by numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.

Visitation will be from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM Thursday, October 7, 2021 and from 9:00 AM until 10:00 AM, Friday, October 8, 2021 at Chism Family Funeral Home, Vine Grove, KY. A prayer service will be held at 7:00 PM, Thursday at the funeral home.

A Mass of Christian Burial for Mr. Rosario will be held at 11:00 AM, Friday, October 8, 2021 at St. Christopher Parish, Radcliff, KY. Burial will follow at North Hardin Memorial Gardens, Radcliff, KY.
