Julie Ann Puckett, 58 years of age, went home to be with the LORD on October 25th, 2024. She passed peacefully surrounded by her beloved family. While her absence will be felt deeply by those who knew and loved her, we rejoice in knowing she will spend eternity with Jesus.

Julie was born to Larry Jennings and Ruth Helen Martin Varney on September 7th, 1966 in Elizabethtown, KY; the youngest of five. She is survived by her husband, Jim Puckett; three children: Rachel (Ross) Fowler and Michael (Ruth) Puckett, both of Rineyville, KY, and Rebecca (Eric) Burnett, of New Albany, IN; one brother and two sisters: Rodney Varney, Jane Miller, and Jennifer (Monty) Lingerfelt, all of Elizabethtown, KY; eight beloved grandchildren: Elijah, Camden, Kennedy, Harper, Isabella, Julianna, Leighton and Liam; as well as a host of nieces and nephews, whom she loved dearly.

Married for 34 years, Jim and Julie built a beautiful, joy-filled life together in Rineyville with their three children. Julie, affectionately known as MomMom by her grandbabies, was the most loving, selfless grandmother and her greatest joy came from her family. She cherished every moment spent with her children and grandchildren.

Julie never did anything half-heartedly. She loved her Kentucky Wildcats, always cheering for her team; bringing enthusiasm and spirit to every game day. Julie believed every life is precious, even caring deeply for the smallest of animals. She especially loved her many dachshunds over the years; leaving behind her clever, spoiled Bandit, whom she lovingly referred to as her ‘son.’

She faithfully served her family and those around her, and was known by all for her unparalleled kindness. Julie was known to go to great lengths to help those in need and was constantly looking for ways to brighten strangers’ days and share the love of Jesus with them.

Julie was preceded in death by her parents, Ruth and Larry Varney; sister, Rebecca Webb; sister-in-law, Heidi Hutcherson; niece, Miranda Marshall; and nephew, Garrett Hutcherson.

Visitation will be from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM, Friday, November 1, 2024 and from 11:00 AM until 12:00 PM, Saturday, November 2, 2024 at Rineyville Baptist Church, Rineyville, KY.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 12:00 PM, Saturday, November 2, 2024 at Rineyville Baptist Church, 5629 Rineyville Rd, Rineyville, KY with Brother Jerry Shacklett officiating. Burial will follow at the Rineyville Memorial Cemetery.
